Family Days (Feb. 19-21, 2010) provides a great opportunity for families to gather together with their students, meet members of the Southwestern faculty, staff, administration and student body and find out the ways in which Southwestern University offers an experience "off the beaten path."

The Southwestern ring is an outward symbol of the Southwestern Experience. Qualified juniors or seniors (75 completed hours or more) must have ordered a ring from Balfour (www.balfour.com) prior to Jan. 4, or have contacted the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations to have their previously purchased ring presented to them. All are invited to attend. There will be a reception immediately following the ceremony in the Red & Charline McCombs Campus Center, Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Bishops Memorial Lounge.

Lois Ferrari, Associate Professor of Music, will conduct the Austin Civic Orchestra’s “Winter Concert,” performing the and Grieg Holbert SuiteDvorak’s Symphony No. 8. Richard McDowell, professor of clarinet at The University of Texas at Austin, will perform as guest soloist. Tickets may be purchased at the door the evening of the concert. Arrive early to ensure seating. Admission is free for Southwestern students, faculty, and staff with their Pirate card. Admission for adults is $10, $8 for other students and seniors and $3 for children under the age of 12.
