The LGBTA Alumni Connection Group counts 60 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight allied alumni as its membership. As a preliminary organizational step, the group was invited to respond to an online interest survey. Christina Diaz ’93 was elected to serve as the group’s delegate to the Alumni Assembly. The LGBTA Alumni Connection Group and the student organization Allies co-hosted their second annual reception for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend 2008 with an estimated attendance of over 60. The officers of Allies and visiting alumni talked about ways in which the LGBTA Alumni Connection Group can best help with the efforts of current students.

Reception Planned for Homecoming and Reunion Weekend
The LGBTA Alumni Connection Group is planning their annual reception to be held during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, Nov. 5-6, 2010. Mark your calendar! More details to come in the months ahead.

LGBTA Alumni Connection Group Remembers Rev. Maurice Edens '49
The LGBTA Alumni Connection Group and the student organization, Allies, co-hosted their annual reception during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend in November. Their 2009 reception was dedicated in loving memory of Rev. R. Maurice Edens '49 who passed away in June 2009. Rev. Edens was a founding member of the LGBTA Alumni Connection Group and a strong advocate for increased awareness and progress of LGBT issues at Southwestern.
