Alumna Affected by Bastrop Fire Needs Help
Friday, Sept. 9, 2011
Duana Welch '91 notified the Office of Alumni Relations this morning that fellow Southwestern graduate Kelly Conrad Bender's '92 home and possessions were lost in the wildfire in Bastrop this week. Fortunately, she, her two boys, her extended family and their pets are safe. The Bender family is currently in a household but is in great need of the generosity of people. It is for this reason that Duana has reached out to The Association of Southwestern University Alumni. Duana has provided a list of suggested items and adds "No gift is too small. Anything, even a dollar or a single small item, will help."
- Gift Cards: Target, HEB grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Visa, gas cards
SEND TO: Kelly Conrad Bender, 108 Outfitter, Bastrop, TX 78602
- Physical Items: such as clothing and housewares (view a spreadsheet of Kelly's needs)
NOTE: Kelly's boys’ ages, clothing sizes and other information are included on the spreadsheet.
The list not only includes what items are especially needed, but also
lets you check off or type in what you’re sending and put your name next
to that item; this allows us to avoid duplicate items and lets Kelly
express her thanks to you.
SEND TO: Kelly Conrad Bender, 108 Outfitter, Bastrop, TX 78602 OR Duana Welch, 6811 Bayridge Terrace, Austin, TX 78759
Please keep the Bender family and all those affected by the wildfires in Texas in your thoughts and prayers. If you have questions, please contact Duana Welch by e-mail
or by calling 512-529-7499.
